THIS CHARGE IS A MISDEMEANOR THAT CARRIES A POSSIBLE SENTENCE OF UP TO A YEAR IN PRISON. THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT  ISSUED A STATEMENT IN SUPPORT OF THE ARRESTS. SAME THING WITH BREXIT AS THE STORY FROM THE LEFT WAS THE VOTE TO DELAY THE ACTUAL EXIT AS OPPOSED TO THE VOTE TO ACTUALLY EXIT! THE UK PARLIAMENT DID IN FACT VOTE 329 TO 299 TO LEAVE THE EU BUT THIS WAS NOT THE HEADLINE IN THE LEFT LEANING MEDIA!

AND THAT IS ALL I’M GOING TO SAY ABOUT THAT!

I SAW A FEEDING AMERICA AD THAT SAID 1 IN 6 CHILDREN FACE HUNGER. VERY IRONIC BECAUSE WE LIVE IN THE FATTEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD! IN FACT OVER 15% OF OUR KIDS ARE CONSIDERED OBESE! PERHAPS NOT SURPRISING GIVEN THE NUMBER OF COUCH POTATO’S PLAYING VIDEO GAMES. ONE OF THESE OBESE WEBSITES WAS TALKING ABOUT POSSIBLE TREATMENTS FOR THIS PROBLEM WHICH OF COURSE SHOULD INCLUDE NOT TAKING THEM OUT FOR FAST FOOD OR LETTING THEM EAT CHIPS AND DRINK SUGARY SODA ON THE COUCH!

GROWING UP IN THE 60’S WE DIDN’T HAVE ACCESS TO VIDEO GAMES OR JUNK FOOD. WE SPENT OUR DAY OUTSIDE RUNNING AROUND AND I ONLY REMEMBER HAVING ONE FAT FRIEND! TODAY THESE TON’S OF FUN ARE EVERYWHERE! BUT HAVING SERVED ON A JURY, I UNDERSTAND THE HUGE ADVANTAGE PLAINTIFF LAWYERS HAVE WITH AMATEUR JURISTS. IN FACT, HAVING JUST BEEN TOLD BY THE JUDGE THAT YOU CAN’T CONSIDER HOW MUCH THE LAWYER GETS THE ONLY GRANDMA ON MY JURY (WHO WAS LITERALLY KNITTING SOMETHING FOR ONE OF HER GRAND KIDS) ANNOUNCED THAT WE SHOULD AWARD 1 MILLION BUCKS TO THE VICTIM BECAUSE HIS LAWYER TAKES SUCH A LARGE CUT! FRANKLY, WE NEED EITHER A PROFESSIONAL JURY SYSTEM OR ALLOW THE JUDGE TO DECIDE THESE CIVIL AWARDS. TODAY EVEN 3 LARGE WOULD BE CONSIDERED CHUMP CHANGE!

AND THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT!

BACK IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS IF A POLITICIAN HAD LEFT OVER POLITICAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS THEY COULD POCKET THEM PERSONALLY AS LONG AS THEY PAID INCOME TAX ON THEM! WHILE THEY CAN’T DO THAT TODAY YOU CAN APPARENTLY SIT ON THEM, TAKE JOE KENNEDY #2 WHO HAS LEFT OVER CONTRIBUTIONS OF 2.8 MILLION DOLLARS EVEN THOUGH HE HASN’T RUN FOR OFFICE IN OVER 20 YEARS! THE THINKING IS THAT HE WILL GIVE IT ALL TO HIS SON JOE #3 WHEN HE RUNS FOR WARREN’S US SENATE.

THIS IS ALMOST AS BAD AS ALLOWING JOE #2 TO DECLARE THESE CONTRIBUTIONS AS PERSONAL INCOME AND A LAW NEEDS TO BE PASSED THAT THIS MOOLAH SHOULD BE RETURNED OR AT LEAST PASSED ON TO WHATEVER PARTY THEY REPRESENTED. OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE THESE FAMILY POLITICAL BRANDS PASSING IT ON FROM ONE GENERATION TO THE NEXT!

I neither support zero immigration nor do I support letting everyone in! My guess is that an overwhelming majority of Americans would agree with this statement as well.

In 1960 approximately 5% of the USA population were immigrants. By 2015 this percentage grew to 14% of the population and is projected to grow to 18% by the year 2065 if this trend continues.

RECENTLY A NEWLY ADMITTED COLLEGE MALE FRESHMAN WHILE TAKING A SHOWER IN ONE STALL REACHED INTO THE NEXT SHOWER STALL HOLDING A CELL PHONE. A FEMALE SOPHOMORE WAS IN THAT STALL AND REPORTED THE YOUNG MAN TO SECURITY WHO IN TURN WOULD BE EXPELLED THE SAME DAY. IT DOES BEG THE QUESTION OF HOW THE YOUNG MAN COULD HAVE DONE THIS WITH A DOOR ON THE SHOWER BUT ONE ASSUMES THAT THE STALL ONLY HAD A CURTAIN.

CO-ED DORMS AND CO-ED SHOWERS EQUAL CO-ED SEXUAL HARASSMENT PROBLEMS. SHOULD ANY ONE REALLY BE AMAZED AT THIS? LEGALLY THEY MAY BE ADULTS WHEN THEY ARE THINKING WITH THEIR BIG HEADS. AFTER THE COLD WAR ENDED I FOUND MYSELF WORKING FOR TWO DIFFERENT COMPANIES THAT SUPPLIED PRODUCTS FOR MILITARY APPLICATIONS. I WAS HIRED TO HELP MOVE THEM INTO THE COMMERCIAL PRIVATE SECTOR. ONE OF THESE COMPANIES ON TIME DELIVERY RECORD WAS ONLY 60%. COMING FROM A COMMERCIAL BACKGROUND I UNDERSTOOD THAT THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE BUT APPARENTLY TOLERATED BY THEIR MILITARY CUSTOMERS.

THE OTHER COMPANY SUPPLIED A PRODUCT THAT REQUIRED SOME MAINTENANCE OVER TIME BUT THE EXPECTATION WAS THAT, THAT WAS THE CUSTOMERS PROBLEM. IN THE COMMERCIAL MARKET THE CUSTOMER HAD MANY DIFFERENT VENDOR CHOICES (COMPETITION) AND SERVICE WAS A KEY VENDOR ISSUE. THE CULTURE AT BOTH COMPANIES WAS SO INGRAINED THAT THERE WAS NO WAY THEY WERE GOING TO SUCCEED UNLESS THEY MADE WHOLESALE CHANGES TO THERE STAFF. AS A RESULT THEY NEVER SUCCEEDED IN DIVERSIFYING THEMSELVES!

AS WE MOVE TO A SOCIALIST COUNTRY EXPECT THAT THE PRODUCT YOU ARE CURRENTLY RECEIVING FROM THE PRIVATE SECTOR WILL BECOME MORE EXPENSIVE, WITH POORER QUALITY AND SERVICE ONCE IT IS BEING SUPPLIED BY THE US GOVERNMENT!

AND THAT IS ALL I’M GOING TO SAY ABOUT THAT!

In 2018, 55 police officers died as a result of felonious acts with 51 of these murdered by guns! That same year the cops would kill 992 people of which 452 were white, 229 were black and 164 were Hispanic.  The USA black population is 12.1% while the percent killed by cops is 23%, almost twice the black population % wise (229 divided by 992). Of the total killed 939 were men and 52 were women.

The recent police killings in Texas of two black people in their homes is very troubling and does make you wonder if there is too much testosterone in our police departments or perhaps just too many ex-military or just not enough training! Either way the trend in charging and convicting police may well slow down these tragic incidences. We understand that this may result in the police not aggressively pursuing justice as they have in the past but that is not all bad! Sorry but both Texas cops should have only been charged with manslaughter and not murder!

And that is all I’m going to say about that!

Many years ago I knew someone whose  first wife took his namesake son into the garage and turn the car on. He would remarry and have another Junior. Several years later I was working for a Junior whose father had divorced his mother. Senior then remarried and had a second son naming him after himself of course, now having two sons with the very same name!!!

Shortly after this I met a guy who was a #4. When I asked him if his father was #3 he said no that #3 was his oldest brother who had died before he was born. Teddy Roosevelt was a Junior until his father died but his son would became Junior instead of a #3 which is of course what he actually was. Jolt’n Joe had a Junior and Jolt’n Jr. seems not to have been able to live up to Seniors expectations. Must be a bit of an ego trip to do this, thinking of Donald Sr. of course!

THE DEMOCRATS UNDERSTAND THAT THEY WILL HOLD ON TO THE HOUSE OF REP’S AND WIN THE PRESIDENCY IN THE 2020 ELECTIONS. HOWEVER WITHOUT DEMMY CONTROL OF THE SENATE THEIR AGENDA WILL BE TORPEDOED BY THE REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED SENATE.
NANCY PELOSI’S STRATEGY THEREFORE IS TO IMPEACH TRUMP AND PUT THE SENATE REPUBLICANS ON THE SPOT BY FORCING THEM TO VOTE TO NOT REMOVE TRUMP IN EARLY 2020. THIS IN TURN IS SUPPOSED TO ENHANCE SENATE DEMOCRAT CANDIDATES CHANCES OF UNSEATING WEAK REPUBLICAN SENATE CANDIDATE! MIGHT JUST WORK AS LONG AS THEY HAVE A CONVINCING CASE! SO FAR THEY HAVE HAD LITTLE SUCCESS WITH MUELLER AND HIS RUSSIAN INVESTIGATION! PERHAPS THE UKRAINE WILL PUT THEM OVER THE FINISH LINE BUT NANCY SHOULD HOLD A VOTE TO CONDUCT AND IMPEACHMENT PROCESS FIRST

IT HAS BEEN ARGUED THAT SOME OF THE ABOVE IS AN OUTGROWTH OF THE WELFARE STATE THAT MADE SELF-DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR LESS COSTLY FOR THE INDIVIDUAL. THERE IS AN EPIDEMIC OF DISTRACTED DRIVING IN THIS COUNTRY WHICH IS COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL AND THE REAL STORY ABOUT TESLA’S AUTOPILOT IS JUST HOW MANY LIVES IT CAN SAVE EVERY DAY!

During the last great depression FDR impregnated the USA with socialism when he created the Social Security System. Today being barely pregnant is ok and many might even be okay with being just 1, 2 or even 3 months pregnant. But most are not ready to see a Socialistic baby born in the USA just yet!

Ironically when Social Security was created the life expectancy was 64, today it’s 80 and as a result the boomers will strip every last dollar that their kids have put into it. Once that happens it then effectively becomes a welfare program for the boomers.

Feel the bern and the red herring who claim to be progressive liberals will end up looking like conservative socialists as compared to their successor in the demmy party once we crash and burn again!

And that is all I have to say about that!

The Great Recession should have been a minor depression but because we borrowed several trillion dollars it became a recession only. Here we are more than ten years later and we have not only not paid back a dime of this debt but in fact have added to it!

As a result we are headed for a really Great Depression which will occur sometime over the next decade. The fact is we were headed for a depression given the increasing deficit as a result of the boomers retiring and wishing to live just like they did when they were working.

The effect of Medicare debt, of interest payments for buying our way out of the last recession and of the disappearing Social Security trust fund will result in a Global Depression. In the end it would have been less painful in the long term if we had not bought our way out of the Great Recession. We should have allowed GM and the bankrupt banks to have tanked instead of bailing them out. But that is exactly what will happen the next around!

And that is all I have to say about that!

Shortly after Nine Eleven the TSA instituted a politically correct air passenger vetting process by “strip searching” every thirteenth passenger. On my first flight I was number 13 and as I am a person of no color and number 14 had some color I found the whole process extremely foolish and unsafe!

Even had they “stripped search” number fourteen it would not have been a safety improvement as he was a SHIKH. To be frank way better to be correct and alive versus politically correct and dead!

I can’t recall whether it was Generals Clapper or Hayden that said the reason why Europe has a bigger terrorism problem is because they have more of them. All of which means that USA has a smaller problem because we have fewer of them and if you don’t have any it follows you don’t have any terrorism problem.

When one considers the number of Muslim folks killed by American made weapons delivered by either America or Israel you got to figure that we’ve pissed off a few of them over the years! Recently Trump took some shots at the London Mayor just before his visit to the UK. But the Mayor had first compared him to Hitler which of course is ridiculous. Perhaps if we had a fact driven media it would have taken the London Mayor to task instead of leaving it all for Trump to do!

Regrettably in today’s media environment it is difficult for objective thinking people to make any kind of intelligent political decisions! And that is all I have to say about that!

Electricity is the life’s blood of any modern economy. The political establishment understands that if they run out of it for any length of time the people will use their voting power to punish them.

While the power elite is concerned with climate change they are not going to go all in for energy sources that rely on sunny or windy days! What we do know is that nuclear power does not produce carbon and has killed far fewer people than global warming has already. Let’s build these plants in such quantities that we can eliminate all coal and gas power plants and then build some more to eliminate the use of all gas in homes, buildings and cars!

Under Trump the debt has increased by 2 trillion and with Pelosi’s call to increase the debt limit will rise again this year by another trillion. The world is headed for a global depression which will occur sometime in the next decade.

With the extreme left demanding trillions for Medicare for all, trillions for slave reparations and trillions for climate change the haves in the USA will have way less. Because the haves in this country are mostly white the double whammy of a depression coupled with a wealth transfer of taxes will increase the color versus no color political divide in the USA.

Class Warfare driven by both an economic depression and by race could get really ugly really quickly. If the right and the left continue to move to their extremist positions this will make this tragedy all the more likely.

We are no longer focused on getting the best result but rather focused on having the fairest process.  We shouldn’t be very surprised by this as our kids have trunk loads of trophies for coming in last place! To make matters worse they were all on the honor roll as well!

Winning is no longer everything here unless of course you are an Asian immigrant and in that case your winning all of the spelling bees. Until the last one of course where there were 8 winners, Six of whom were Asian. This is sort of like Harvard giving A’s 85% of the time!

In those cases nobody loses and everybody wins. That is until someone else comes along and decides that they would rather get the best result. My guess is, that will be somewhere in Asian where you actually don’t get an award for coming in last place or make the honor roll just because everyone else does. Failure needs to become an option again in America as we learn way more from them than we do from hollow victories.

When you consider the huge disconnect between the black and white communities over OJ Simpsons potential guilt in the murder of his ex-wife you understood that unless that changed it was going to rear its ugly head someday.

Personally I thought that it was going to happen sooner as opposed to later but believe that it is now just beginning to emerge over the black lives matter issue and slave reparations. These calls for reparations for slave’s long dead will likely drive this wedge even deeper between folks of color and no color.

As a nation we have not addressed the lingering PTSD of the Jim Crow era inflicted on our fellow Americans. Just like our war veterans we need to provide both mental and educational support to them!

Back in the day Eighteen year old’s could buy booze. Then car fatalities increased dramatically and now it’s back to 21. Many States have or are moving the cigarette and vaping ages up to 21 as well.

While in New York you must now be 21 to become a baby surrogate and yet 18 year old’s can still vote for or against the most powerful person in the world! Not only that but recently 126 US Congress people voted to lower the voting age to 16.

When I was Sixteen all I wanted to do was to smoke, drink and have sex. You’ve taken most of that away!!! But instead we want to give 16 year old’s the right to vote.

Research shows that kids don’t have a fully developed prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain involved in decision-making and impulse control until their 20’s or even 30’s I’m thinking that A.O.C. who wanted to give them the vote doesn’t have one of those either….

I don’t expect The Donald to win the 2020 election but then again I didn’t expect him to win in 2016 either! Trump of course is not running against himself and so to some extent his trump card may be how far left his Democrat opponent is forced to go.

The NY Times is suggesting that he could win the electoral college but lose even more with the popular vote then he did in 2016. If that happens expect even more blue states to legislate that their electoral colleges will declare for whomever wins the national popular vote. Currently there are 15 states that have already passed this type of legislation.

This will eventually open the door to multiple party candidates. If it does this cure could be way worse than the disease! And that is all I have to say about that!

So a judge rules that an immigrant minor has to be released in 21 days and what happens is that adult immigrant men accompanied by kids goes from 2% to 30% because they understand they will be released with the kid they brought with them at the same time! So the FEDS start doing DNA testing and discover that a significant percentage of the men and kids are not even related!

Recently the Mayor of LA and the Governor of California were shocked to find the huge increase of homeless folks living there. But this should not have been a big surprise given the above! And while they are both appalled at the conditions of the internment camps that Trump is running are the conditions of being homeless in California any better? Plus what happens to the unrelated kids after they are released with the non-relative adult!

As for myself I’ve been on a slim slow diet as opposed to a slim fast one for years! The fact is Rome wasn’t dismantled in a day and starvation type diets are very problematic because once you’ve lost the weight you tend to go right back to eating the same things again.

So consider a slim slow diet approach and make one small permanent change to your eating and once you’ve accomplished that make another small permanent change until you’ve lost what you need to. I went from 208 to 175 and have kept the weight off for the last decade. But whatever you do be sure to consult your doctor first!

In spite of all the scare tactics we are not going to turn the clocks all the way back on Roe versus Wade although there may be some limited changes to it around the margins.
Apparently Jane Roe wanted abortion to be available whenever and wherever a woman wanted one. The all-male Supremes’ would vote 7-2 to allow abortion up to fetal viability.
What I frankly don’t understand then is why after viability it is still called a fetus instead of a baby. Calling it a baby would of course imply that it has legal rights and why shouldn’t it?

NOTE: The new New York abortion law apparently means that the baby/fetus can be aborted right up to the day of its birth!

Had they both gone after Stalin first perhaps the world would have been divided into three spheres of influence with Germany running Europe, Japan running Asia and the USA running the Western Hemisphere. In that case 2/3rd’s of the world would have been in the grip of dictatorships.

Instead America became the world leader with the Soviet Union a distant second. This meant that 2/3rd’s of the world was living in democracies. Today democracies are in a far more dangerous place because of world’s ability to fight a truly global war.

Moving forward will the world become all democratic or all dictatorial! As both China and Asia emerge onto the world stage one has to consider whether the Asian cultural preference for consensus will lean one way or the other! Will see.

A recent Madam Secretary TV episode featured Colin Powell, Hillary Clinton, and Madeline Albright. They along with Tea Leoni who plays the Secretary of State on the show discussed the dangers of Nationalism.

One of the most nationalistic country’s in the world is Israel (for very understandable reasons) and all three real Secretary’s of State were very supportive even throwing billions of USA taxpayer money and weapon systems at them.

This TV show was another example of how our political appointees just talk the talk! The Internationalist UN mandated the right of return and you won’t hear a peep out of Hillary, Colin and Madeline about that either. Yup there are exceptions to every rule.

After the Civil War, southern white male democrats began to practice wide spread voter suppression against black male voters. And rightly so! As for suppression and fraud expect them to be practiced by one or the other party. We need the Freedom card NOW!

Not all that long ago the environmental community raved about their efforts to clean up Pittsburgh! In the end all they really accomplished was to move the steel plants to Asia and into plants that belched out even more carbon!
On top of this they are actively pushing back on the use of non-carbon generating nuclear power plants in favor of wind and solar which will not provide anything close to what the world needs for energy.
But on the upside at least the most famous greenhead of them all, Leonardo DiCaprio has ditched his private jet and is now flying commercial!!!

Plus all of the ex-union steelworkers would then go on to vote for the pro climate changer Trump.

The left was never thrilled about the Clintons in general but more specifically not with Hillary’s political miscalculation regarding the Iraq #2 war. For these reasons the left and their mainstream media allies went all out to break the black ceiling instead.

While the left loved Bernie the mainstream media understood that Clinton had the nomination locked up compliments of the Super Delegates. Every Bernie win was followed by a media reminder of Hillary’s super delegate majority. The left held its nose but understood that here was the chance to break the female ceiling. Not to be!

Unfortunately Clinton had way too much political baggage and in the end was no kind of retail political candidate. This time around the left and their mainstream media allies are beginning to move to either Elizabeth Warren’s or Kamala Harris’s direction and unless they do something very stupid likely the next President and VP nominees of the party! Will it be a Warren Harris or a Harris Warren ticket? Will see…

BEGINNING IN 1992 DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES WOULD WIN CALIFORNIA WITH HILLARY CLINTON GETTING 62% OF THE VOTE IN 2016.

I thought that Michelle Robinson Obama was great First Lady. When her husband’s ex Attorney General Holder went low she scolded him for not going high! But the  political conversation in the country continues to get lower and lower on both side.

The other day I saw a picture of the ex-first lady with her naturally curly hair and instantly thought of my beautiful granddaughter who has the same beautiful curls…All of this made me think of cultural appropriation and I asked myself if Mrs. Michelle Robinson Obama was guilty of this as well…

I don’t think so. If you’re a member of a long term discriminated class you are going to try to fit in with the mainstream whether it’s straightening your hair or driving a Cadillac. I hope my granddaughter never feels that she needs to do either to fit in!

THE USA NEEDS TO FIX ITS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION PROBLEM BUT UNFORTUNATELY WITH 2/3RD’s OF THE WORLD LAWYERS HERE THAT WILL BE NO EASY THING! AS A RESULT YOU SHOULD EXPECT THINGS TO GET EVEN WORSE!  AS FOR THE 1 MILLION IMMIGRANTS WHO COME HERE LEGALLY EVERY YEAR WE WISH THEM THE VERY BEST! 

I neither support zero immigration nor do I support letting everyone in! My guess is that an overwhelming majority of Americans would agree with this statement as well.

In 1960 approximately 5% of the USA population were immigrants. By 2015 this percentage grew to 14% of the population and is projected to grow to 18% by the year 2065 if this trend continues.

So what’s the # folks? Because if there is a number than some of the things that Trump is trying to do today are going to have to happen tomorrow in order to fix immigration! 

Unfortunately we are no where close to even beginning to have this kind of conversation today in Washington DC. 

I AGREE WITH SUPREME COURT JUSTICES GINSBURG AND GORSUCH THAT A STATE GOVERNMENT AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRY YOU FOR THE VERY SAME CRIME. ONE OR THE OTHER NEEDS TO DECIDE WHO WILL TRY THE CASE.

HOWEVER CURRENT LAW ALLOWS FOR BOTH TO DO SO AND IT BEGS THE QUESTION AS TO WHY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DID NOT TRY OJ SIMPSON AGAIN ON MURDER AFTER HE WAS ACQUITTED IN A CALIFORNIA STATE COURT.

BUT LET ME GO ONE STEP FURTHER THAN GINSBURG AND GORSUCH AND ARGUE THAT ONCE HE WAS FOUND NOT GUILTY THE GOLDMAN FAMILY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO SUE AN INNOCENT MAN IN CIVIL COURT(TRIPLE JEOPARDY). YUP THAT STINKS FOR THEM BUT THE FEDS SHOULD HAVE THEN STEPPED UP ON THEIR BEHALF AND TRIED OJ AGAIN FOR MURDER IN FEDERAL COURT!

SO THE LAWYERS GET INVOLVED WITH FREE SPEECH AND THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW MONEY IS FREE SPEECH AND IT HAS COMPLETELY PERVERTED AND BROKEN THE POLITICAL PROCESS IN WASHINGTON DC…

My mother had ten of these! I remember for the last one that I woke up one morning to my father asleep in bed and my mother nowhere to be seen. After a few minutes the phone rang and my father yelled “it’s a girl” and went back to sleep.

My wife had three of these! I was there for all three natural child births. Unlike my mother who was knocked out for hers, my wife was awake and screaming for hers. An amazing experience and I will always remember cutting my youngest umbilical cord.

The mother’s of my four beautiful grandkids are no longer being prepped but are having saddle blocks to avoid the screaming of natural child birth. What I would call the perfect compromise between my mother and wife’s experiences!

Besides building pyramids and piles of debt we are burying ourselves under tons of lawsuits! The fact is we are using the legal system in much the same way the French used the guillotine during their revolution. This isn’t to say that the first 200 Frenchman didn’t have it coming to them, it’s the next 20,000 “off with their heads” that the mob demanded that is more difficult to justify! With the emergence of the social media mob the legal environment in the USA will become increasingly more challenging. It is one thing to drink justice from a glass, something else to drink it from the bottom of the Potomac. Unfortunately as 40% of Congress are lawyers you should expect no help from this quarter anytime soon…

The world is undergoing another leadership change with power shifting from the West to the East. The better class of people in the West are moving to take control over their governments. The last time this happened you had the better class of the “peace in our time” crowd in UK and the American Firster folks in the USA. Had these two groups moved against Fascism and Herr Hitler sooner perhaps just 6 dead Nazi’s as opposed to 60 million dead. One hopes that the better class does a better job* this time around. As for the worser class they have no one to blame but themselves had they done a better job since the end of WWII maybe we would not have found ourselves in this kind of boat!

Los Angeles teachers are on strike for more money and less pupils! So less work for more pay the standard union mantra. Very likely the democratically controlled city will end up throwing more good money after bad there. Would be interesting to see in those countries that are beating the USA in education; how many pupils they have, how many days they go to school and how much the teachers are paid as compared to teachers in LA.
The Teachers Union want kids to start earlier which of course requires hiring more teachers as opposed to extending the school year which doesn’t. And you do have to ask yourself if older kids retain things better than younger ones!

Note la la teachers have settled for more money and less work!!!!

Some very smart people are predicting that this is the century of China. But when will they replace America as the world leader? The best case scenario for the West is not until 2099. The worst case scenario for the West is 2020.

But let’s say the better class of folk are correct and China does in fact become a democracy but not until say 2055. In that case in 2020 you have a world leader that is a dictatorship for another 35 years. On the other hand by 2099 you would have had a Chinese democracy for 44 years.

What is America’s long term strategy for obtaining the best worldwide outcome? Given the present conversation in Washington, we clearly do not have one! So you should expect America to lose its leadership role sooner as opposed to later in this century!

Joltin’ Joe was the first ball player to make 100 Grand, today that is chump change! Unfortunately money has ruined both America’s pastime and Washington DC!

The great Sports Illustrated writer Frank Deford once said that the difference between yesterday’s ball player and today’s is that yesterday’s hall of famer’s were regular Joe’s. Today many of the baseball superstars are just a bunch of prima donna’s. Just like many of today’s Politicians!

What a shame as I remember a time when elections were over the very next day and ball games took just a couple of hours to play. Your strength can become your weakness and for America that has become our almighty dollar. Cie la Vie!

For the 12^th year in a row the US Post Office has lost money, reporting a loss of $3.9 billion dollars in 2018. This in spite of having a monopoly on the majority of its business! The absolute perfect example of our politician’s inability to run a business!

In the age of the internet and email who needs snail mail? The fact is most of the mail you get today are catalogs and junk mail. Do we really have to deliver this junk on Saturday also? With the country up to its eyeballs in debt is there anyone in Washington who capable of fixing this? If you don’t think so then please don’t vote for any big government socialists in 2020! Bernie Sanders calls himself a Progressive Socialist, but he is really a Marxist. Perhaps like Lenin it will work out for him in 2020! Senator Warren who claims to be a capitalist is in fact a Big Government Socialist.

Frankly amazing just how gullible investors and voters can be to line of B.S. especially when one is promising them huge benefits which almost never ever happen!

THE RIGHT UNDERSTANDS THAT ONCE THESE IMMIGRANTS BECOME CITIZENS AND VOTE THAT THEY WILL OVERWHELMINGLY ENDORSE POLITICAL LEADERS ON THE LEFT.

THE LEFT (YOUNGER FOLK) ARE BEING ENERGIZED BY POLITICAL LEADERS THAT ARE PUSHING FOR CLIMATE CHANGE.  THE LEFT IS PROMOTING HUGE INVESTMENTS IN GREEN MANUFACTURING WITH THE PROMISE OF CREATING GREEN JOBS. UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE IMPOSING VERY EXPENSIVE GREEN ENERGY SOLUTIONS THAT WILL MAKE THE WEST EVEN LESS COMPETITIVE WITH THE EAST’S INCREASING USE OF COAL ENERGY.

THE NET EFFECT WILL BE TO DRIVE EVEN MORE  JOBS TO CHINA (ASIA). NOT ONLY THAT BUT THE WORLD WILL BECOME EVEN MORE POLLUTED…

A LOSE/LOSE FOR AMERICA (AND THE WEST).        

After World War II America’s track record in Asia was extremely problematic. For starters in China, the USA backed the wrong warlord. This would result in our “losing” China, which in turn would provoke our involvement in Korea, ending in a very bloody tie. JFK would then commit the USA to fighting in Vietnam by effectively “green lighting” the assassination of President Diem. Not to be outdone LBJ would then hamstring the military’s ability to fight ending in a humiliating defeat for the US. As China continues to emerge the reunification of its country will become an increasing pinch point for the West. To a lesser extent the reunification of Korea could minimize any potential pinch points in Asia as well.   

 

           

PRINT, TV, CABLE, INTERNET, BLOGS, SOCIAL MEDIA HAVE MADE FOR AN EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT. THE MORE BLOOD AND GUTS THE MORE ATTENTION A STORY GETS WITH VIEWERS. THE NEED TO BE THE FIRST WITH THE SCOOP IS DRIVING THE MARKET PLACE AND STORIES THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA WOULDN’T HAVE TOUCHED IN THE PAST ARE NOW APPEARING ALMOST EVERYWHERE.
AS A RESULT LITTLE ATTENTION AND EVEN LESS RESOURCES ARE BEING INVESTED INTO PUTTING THEM INTO ANY KIND OF OVERALL CONTEXT. DOING THAT OF COURSE COULD NOT ONLY IMPACT ON BEING FIRST TO MARKET BUT MIGHT ALSO EFFECT THE AMOUNT OF BLOOD THAT APPEARS IN THE STORY! BY THE TIME THE OTHER HALF OF THE STORY GETS OUT (IF THERE IS ONE AND IT DOES GET OUT) THE HARM HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE.
AS SECRETARY OF LABOR RAY DONOVAN ONCE SAID, “WHICH OFFICE DO I GO TO, TO GET MY REPUTATION BACK?”

Recently Trump’s son in law was asked by a reporter if his father in law was a racist for attacking Obama over his place of birth. Both John McCain and Ted Cruz we’re challenged over this as McCain was born in Panama and Cruz in Canada.

None of the folks attacking John and Ted’s birtherism were accused of racism and so I assume in these cases all parties were white but would that have made any difference If the folks doing the attacking were black? Not really.

The only intelligent conversation here is what in fact the constitution requires of a person’s birth place in order to run for US President and what proof if any is required of them to prove it! Given the three examples above it doesn’t sound like much….

Otherwise known as Trump and Brexit! Given that both outcomes were completely unexpected the left in the US and the UK immediately went to work to reverse both! Pelosi and Bercow understand that reversing these outcomes without a clear mandate to do so could create an even bigger problem for them.

In the UK that would be the election of their version of Trump, Boris Johnson which would then be followed by a Brexit without an exit agreement with the EU. In the USA that would be a failed impeachment effort to remove Trump followed by his re-election in 2020.

 

 

Tactical driven folks are small picture short term driven. So if the short term trend is either up or down they are either happy or sad respectively. Strategic driven folks are big picture long term driven. So if the long term trend is either up or down they are either happy or sad respectively.

Needless to say tactical and strategic people are only in synch when the short and long terms trends are the same. Where there is a large mismatch especially during periods of significant disruption strategic thinking is far more important than tactical doing.

However this is a challenge for democracies as tactical doers greatly out number strategic thinkers.  In the West long term negative trends are being inflamed by an emerging social media creating a significant disruption on our existing political establishments!

I think because I was bottle fed that I grew up to be one of these. I remember driving by a State Park that had a sign saying that the La Leche League would be having a meeting there the next day. I told my wife that I was going to go to it dressed up as a milk carton and holding a got milk sign. She was not amused.

She had breast fed our three kids and when that ended her boobs ended up looking like two fried eggs hanging from a nail. Recently I learned that mothers milk sells for up to a 100 bucks an ounce. Had I known that, my wife would still have a great set of knockers. A WIN/WIN.

All that said I think that the men in the US Congress (while they are still in the majority) should pass two laws. One making it illegal for a woman to have breast reduction surgery and the other authorizing Obamacare to pick up 100% of the cost of breast enlargement surgery!

 

 

 

JOHN BERCOW THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF COMMONS IN THE UK HAS DECIDED NOT TO ALLOW PRESIDENT TRUMP TO SPEAK TO PARLIAMENT. THIS IS BECAUSE HE BELIEVES THAT TRUMP IS BOTH A RACIST AND A SEXIST.

ON THE OTHER HAND IN 2015 HE ALLOWED CHINESE PRESIDENT XI JINPING TO SPEAK TO PARLIAMENT AND AS WE ALL KNOW THE PRESIDENT OF CHINA IS A WAY BETTER PERSON THAN TRUMP! OR COULD THE DIFFERENCE BE THAT XI HAS CONTROL OVER HIS MEDIA WHILE IN THE WEST THE MEDIA IS OUT OF CONTROL.
