My German grandparents came to America in the 1920’s leaving behind some relatives who were big fans of Hitler! Not sure how they weathered the war but their country did pay reparations. I could certainly foresee a Jewish version of Henry Louis Gates attempting to shame me because I had Nazi’s in my family! But of course that had nothing to do with me!
Needless to say my German American family didn’t own American slaves and therefore they don’t owe any reparations for slavery either! Especially to people who were never even slaves, whether that is to black people who had slave ancestors or to people like Barack Obama and Kamala Harris whose black fathers were not Americans!
And that is all I’m going to say about!
