I remember the first time I made sales calls in silicon valley and everywhere I went there was a lot of warnings about maintaining security to prevent someone from stealing their technology! Later I would attend a presentation by Bob Galvin of Motorola who told the story of how he met Chinese Chairman Deng.
Galvin convinced Deng that instead of Motorola building a low tech chip factory in China like everyone else was doing, he would build a world class chip plant if Deng allowed Motorola to own it 100% which China had never allowed before! The Chairman agreed because China really needed this technology and this would allow them to better steal it! Now the taxpayer is spending billions to bring it back home!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
