Every year I buy my grandkids Xmas presents and every year it becomes more of a challenge. This is because I look for things that incorporate their name in some way. My kids don’t make this easy because they are giving them names straight out of the 1800’s. In addition I purchase them autographed books or old Roman coins that they could care less about.
Besides the fact that they are getting way too much stuff, most of it is cheap plastic crap that is either broken or discarded in 5 minutes anyway. My hope of course is that when they reach my age they will open the book or look at the coin and remember their Gramps! The last thing my older brother said to me just before he died was that all we have are our memories.
And that is all I’m going to say about that.
