My wife just got a speeding ticket in the mail even though she wasn’t driving the car! The city we got it in, installed speed camera’s showing the front end of the car with the license plate but not who was driving it. This is like charging murder to the owner of a gun but not charging the shooter of it! The city claims that this is all about safety but of course it is really about the 3+ million dollars they collected in fines over the last nine months!
This small city has a large University so it leans socialist democrat left and needs to shakedown as much money as it can to finance their do-gooder projects! Nobody likes to pay taxes so the locals can expect to pay more in speeding tickets as the city expands it’s speed camera operations! They won’t show the drivers faces because people would push back on this like they have with Flock cameras! As for the driver I won’t be going to dinner there until it costs the city more in lost taxes than they made on my wife’s fine!
