I was reading an AD in The NY Times by a person who said that 6 generations of his family had gone to Yale and I thought to myself wouldn’t it be great if the Ivy League did away with Legacy admissions! In a way it is America’s version of royalty and as we all know eventually they all become so inbred that Yale really had no other choice but to start giving them all Straight A’s. My youngest was wait listed at Harvard and rejected by Yale but ended up at another Ivy League school without having any legacy advantage!
The AD was encouraging their Alma Mater to not settle with Trump even if it cost Yale a ton of money. During all of this I learned just how much money the tax payers were forking over to the Ivy League in spite of the fact that our government has our grand kids in debt up to their eyeballs plus the Ivy’s all have huge endowments to boot! Crazy! Perhaps had the AD been written by a non-legacy first generation Asian American Yalie maybe it would have had way more credibility with me! Who knows!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
