“Juneteenth marks the celebration of America’s second independence day. President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation declaring enslaved people free as of January 1, 1863. But freedom did not reach some areas of the country still under Confederate control until years later. In the case of Galveston, Texas, it took until June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived and announced the proclamation would be enforced.” Hillary Clinton.
Lincoln only freed the slaves in Confederate States that he didn’t control and did not free the slaves in the Border States that hadn’t left the union out of concern that if he did that they would then do so! As for Juneteenth it only applies to Texas as the border States did not free their slaves until the 13th Amendment was passed in December of 1865. Wouldn’t it be great if the democrats stopped making up history and told you the truth for a change!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
