No not General Goldwater but rather LBJ who ran a very effective ad against Goldwater featuring a little girl holding a flower and a nuclear explosion! “During President Lyndon B. Johnson’s term (1963–1969), specifically during the Operation Rolling Thunder campaign (March 1965 – October 1968), the U.S. dropped approximately 864,000 tons of bombs on North Vietnam. The nuclear bomb on Hiroshima was only 15,000 tons of TNT. Unlike dropping the nukes on Japan which ended the war Operation Rolling Thunder was a failure!
The pro-democrat press hated Barry Goldwater but in the end it was LBJ who was NUTS! Hey, hey LBJ how many kids did you kill today? Between that and General Westmoreland’s strategy of producing the highest body count, America was doomed in Vietnam! I had one of the Vietnamese boat people who worked for me who said they didn’t care who won they just wanted it over! When Vietnam attacked Cambodia he got on a boat and eventually ended up in America! Good for him! America’s history will eventually be completely rewritten!
