These million or so folks should have done their military service in prison because the war may have ended sooner! The fact that they disappeared into Canada brought absolutely nothing to the table politically!
President Carter should never have Pardoned these people only offered them Clemency at best for evading service to their country! This war had two long term negative effects on America; it disconnected its citizens from required service to its country while giving them the right to vote! This made it way easier for idiot Bush #2 to invade Iraq #2.
