“Why groceries are still so expensive despite cooling inflation. Price hikes have moderated throughout the U.S. economy, but food prices have remained persistently high.” WAPO. No surprise then that Biden is playing the blame game as voters are really pissed off about food prices!
The WAPO headline is misleading because the only thing that has declined is the rate of inflation! In 2021 it was 7%, in 2022 6.5% and last year 3.4% for a total of 16.9% overall. You would need disinflation for food prices to decline to what folks were paying before Biden became President and in fact his inflation reduction act only made it more difficult for that to happen!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
