O’Connor would come to regret her vote in Bush v. Gore, but believed at the time that this was “better” than allowing our electoral process to run its course with its potential for the Florida Governor Jeb Bush deciding for his brother! If that had happened the left-handed media would have treated George W. Bush, even worse than they did Trump.
Now while that “may” have been the smartest short term tactical decision the 5-4 vote along partisan lines strategically it “gutted” the long term credibility of the US Supreme Court. At the end of the day having a weaker George W. Bush, presidency would have been way better for the country than a judicial system that is seen by many as broken!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
