In California they changed the shop lifting law from a felony to a misdemeanor for stealing less than $950 worth of stuff. Now because the local woke prosecutors don’t prosecute misdemeanors the cops have stop arresting shop lifters! Now because California is a sanctuary State, they have many poor illegals living there whose first act was coming here illegally so apparently why stop now! This is also a win/win for local politicans because they can now tout how they decreased the felony crime rate in their crime ridden City’s as well.
Unfortunately, this is not just a problem in California but in all major democrat run City’s in America also! But the question that I have is the $950 dollar misdemeanor limit per incident or if someone steals say $950 per day, every day would they ever be charged with a felony in a democrat controlled City? If not in 3 years that person would have stolen over a million bucks worth of stuff! Way to go democrats!
