Penguin Random House cut a $2 million deal for a book written by Supreme Court Justice Amy Comey Barrett. Now some in the book publishing industry want the publisher to cancel the contract because Barrett voted to end Roe versus Wade! Maybe all she voted for was a recognition that the Supreme Court didn’t have the authority to have made this decision in the first place!
Now while the letter writer recognized the threat to democracy that book burning or more specifically book contract burning represented, they believed that their own political beliefs should still supercede Barrett’s free speech. This is just one more threat that the left poses to democracy in America which will only lead to more begetting of violence here! Remember the British Left kept Churchill off the BBC airwaves in the 1930’s and he was right!
