Otherwise known as pork barrel this is music to both Republican and Democrat sow’s ears as the Repub’s are rewarded with cash from the construction companies and the Demmy’s are rewarded with cash from the Construction Unions. You will be hearing a lot more about this from the Biden Administration!
For example the Gravina Island Bridge, commonly referred to as the “Bridge to Nowhere“, was a proposed bridge to replace the ferry that currently connects the town of Ketchikan, Alaska. The bridge was “projected” to cost $398 million! After canceling the bridge, Alaska spent more than $25 million to build the Gravina Island Highway, which would have connected with the proposed bridge. The road project went ahead because the money came from the federal government, and would otherwise have had to be returned. It has been called the “road to nowhere” by many local Alaskans.
