In order to re-establish relations with China, President Nixon had to recognize that there was only one China. But Nixon did not concede that it would be a red one only. Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson believes that Red China will move against Taiwan sometime in the next ten years. The question facing Western leadership will be is this a Sudetenland or a Poland type of challenge? War or no war?
Given Biden’s 40 year career in the Senate and his preference for multi-lateral decision making the answer will be that it will be another Sudetenland as the island is dominated with exiled Nationalist Chinese! The West will not go to war over Taiwan during Biden’s term and he will hide behind this multi-lateral decision just as he did with the Iran agreement. But will this then emboldened the Chinese to make a Poland type of decision and what would that be, India, Japan or South Korea?
And that is all I’m going to say about that?
