My wife was big RBG fan, while I was more of a fan of Scalia. Both were at the opposite ends of the legal spectrum but maintained a respect for each other. A wonderful example for this cancel culture age! On the one hand this culture denigrates Ellen Degeneris for just sitting next to George Bush at a sporting event but said nothing when Michelle Obama gave the same guy a hug!
Just like the former First Lady, RBG took the high road, we desperately need more of this in the USA. If the Republicans move to nominate a replacement for her given their past refusal to even consider Obama’s nominee, Judge Merrick Garland then the road in America will get even lower. But it was Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who opened this door by eliminating the judicial filibuster.
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
