As of the 2023–24 school year, there are approximately 3.24 million to 3.8 million public school teachers in the United States, including both traditional and charter schools. This number represents a record high in some estimates, with a student-teacher ratio of about 15.1. The democrats want to pay a national minimum salary of $60,000 to all new teachers!
They pulled the same stunt in my blue State several years ago and the Teachers Union complained that because new teachers got a raise everyone with experience should as well and it drove the State into a huge debt! My wife was a stay at home mother who took in kids to baby sit and I remember when the DEMS moved to regulate her and now they are moving to regulate home schooling in an effort to push them into government run programs!
