The proverbial Rock and Hard place! Black people use the “N” word between themselves all the time, so if the Tourettes person had been black no harm no foul. As for black people hearing the “N” word “echoed around the world” all they have to do is watch a Dave Chappelle performance on Netflix! Huge fan of Chappelle especially when he described a bunch of Italians as a mob and a bunch of blacks as a gang but I guess that doesn’t count!
