‘Murky Waters’ for Global Businesses After Trump’s Tariff Loss. Even after the Supreme Court invalidated many of the president’s levies, foreign leaders and executives assume that U.S. tariffs are here to stay, in one form or another.” NY Times. The Supremes voted 6-3 but who really paid the tariff tax?
Now let’s say that Walmart imported a million dollars worth of crap from China and paid the FEDS $100,000 in tariffs (10%) but they in turned raised their prices by 10% who then really paid the tariff Walmart or Walmart’s customers? Now because affordability is going to be a big political issue in this election year major retailers may have a big political bullseye on their back but not so smaller ones who may well pocket the Tariff refund instead!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
