Lowering the voting age to 16 is therefore completely insane!
With Americans now living into their 80’s maybe we should consider raising the voting age given our capacity to destroy the planet many times over! When the country was founded the people lived on average to the age of 40 so having a minimum age of 25 to run for Congress, a minimum age of 30 to run for the Senate and a minimum age of 35 to run for President made some sense! Today not so much given the increased consequences for making a bad decision!
