Expectations

“In 2024, Donald Trump won the popular vote by 1.5 points. Trump and Democrats alike treated this result as an overwhelming repudiation of the left and a broad mandate for the MAGA movement. But by any historical measure, it was a squeaker.” NY Times. Golda Meir won the Arab Israeli War in only 7 days but her voters expected her to win in 7 hours. So she got the boot!

The expectation was that Harris was going to win but she also lost the Electoral College and the popular vote as well. Not only that but the Republicans won the Senate and kept control of the House! The democrats have been split between blaming Harris or Biden for their defeat. Having outspent Trump by 1/2 billion dollars they can’t blame the billionaires but they will try!

And that is all I’m going to say about that.

Way more difficult to have reasonable expectations when your country is in decline!
