“Geoffrey Hinton, the prominent data scientist known as the “Godfather of artificial intelligence,” is backing Elon Musk in his legal attempt to block OpenAI from switching to a for-profit company. OpenAI was founded as an explicitly safety-focused non-profit and made a variety of safety related promises in its charter,” Hinton said in a statement published on Monday by Encode, a youth-led advocacy group for human-centered AI, which promotes using AI to improve human abilities instead of replacing them.”
Two basic versions of AI one that is as smart as Humans while the other is way smarter! The concern of the Left and their union allies is that the latter version will replace humans in the same way that Japan’s mechanical robots replaced America’s Auto workers! The challenge is that the unions and their democrat allies will want guard rails so close together that will only allow for the first version to exist. While the UAW killed Detroit the other Unions will kill the rest of the country should they succeed in minimizing AI!
