In a reaction to the Great Depression FDR and the democrats granted industry monopolies to trade unions! The invention of mechanical robots would disrupt the automotive industry thereby allowing the Japanese automakers to conquer GM, Ford and Chrysler! We know that it was the union that killed the US Car business because had this been a mismanagement problem Mr. Toyota, Mr Honda and Mr. Subaru would have just bought and fixed them!
Back in the day the Commercial Aircraft business was dominated by Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and Lockheed. All 3 were dominated by another union monopoly and as a result we are down to only one of these companies which is allegedly in decline as well. “In 2023, in total, Boeing and Airbus delivered 528 and 735 aircraft compared to 480 and 663, respectively, in 2022. The union workers who lost their jobs to foreign non-union companies are being replaced by government unionized workers who are doing the same thing to our public schools and works!
