The end of the roaring twenties in America and the beginning of the depression with the stock market crash of October 28th. “On 30 May (1929) women aged between 21 and 29 vote for the first time (in the UK). This general election is sometimes referred to as the Flapper Election.” parliament.uk. The end result of both was that in America it became more isolationist and in the UK it became more pro-peace in our time!
In the UK the ladies helped to keep the war monger Churchill out of office and off the BBC, while in the USA, FDR would increasingly complain about the bleeding heart sob sisters keeping him out of the world war! A hundred years later America will have come full circle with a “real” women president! But we will once again experience both a depression and a world war three!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
