“A former senior aide to two New York governors has been charged with acting as a secret agent for the Chinese government by United States authorities. Linda Sun, a former deputy chief of staff to New York Governor Kathy Hochul and former Governor Andrew Cuomo, was charged on multiple counts along with her husband and co-defendant, Chris Hu, according to the US attorney general. The couple are naturalised US citizens.” NY Times.
As we continue on our treadmill to WAR with China it begs the question of how we plan to handle American born Chinese, or Chinese born but naturalized US citizens or Chinese born citizens living in America legally or even illegally! Hindsight is 20/20 but should a Chinese born US citizen be making government decisions involving China/Taiwan issues? Given that WW 3 will have far broader and painful consequences on Americans maybe we shouldn’t be leaving ourselves so wide open as we did in Pearl Harbor!
