I’m reminded of the number of Japanese spies that were in Pearl Harbor! The expectation was that the Japanese were headed to California next and had FDR not locked them up after the sneak attack on Hawaii (and California was attacked) the Congressional elections of 1942 would have gone to the Republicans. A smart political move by FDR better safe than sorry!
