A castrato (plural castrati) was a type of male singer with a very high voice. The effect was produced either through castration, or because of some hormonal problems. The word castrato literally means castrated. Such singers were very sought after in the early days of the opera, before women with vagina’s were allowed to perform!
Recently a castrati was expressing buyers remorse for having his/her balls cut off at the tender age of nineteen! This raises the question of what qualifies to be called a transgender “woman”; you have your penis and testicles removed, you have just your testicles removed, or you have nothing removed?
