No, not the kids of American soldiers but rather America’s NATO and SEATO allies! Coming off of World War Two it made perfect sense that America foot the entire bill for defending its allies! Today it makes no sense at all but never the less America is still picking up most of NATO’s tab for Ukraine’s war against Russia.
Now while the EU’s debt to GDP was 84% in 2022, America’s debt to GDP was 124% or 40% points higher than our allies who have contributed way less to their own defense and that of Ukraine than the USA has! Unfortunately for our NATO allies once America is fully engaged by China they will be effectively cut off of America’s military teat!
