I remember in the 1980’s attending a conference where the key note speaker was a former Republican Wisconsin Governor who said that free trade was great for World Peace because the Japanese would never again bomb Pearl Harbor because they already owned half of it! This was of course at a time when Japan Inc had already taken over the USA market for TV’s and Camera’s!
Senator Joe Biden and others of his ilk made the very same calculation that free trade with China would turn them into a democracy! Not only has that not happened but we turned them into the world’s worst polluter in the process. Way to go Brandon!
