After J. Edgar dies there was a renewed effort to go after Organized Crime by the G-Men! Logically this renewed focus was on folks whose names ended on vowels; Soprano, Corleone, Gotti. Needless to say there was an increasing resentment from the Italian-American community!
This isn’t to say that Italians were the only ones in organized crime; Jimmy “the gent” Burke, Bugsy Siegel, Henry Hill to name a few who were friends of ours! At the end of the day while not all Italian Americans were Mafia all Mafia were Italian Americans! The Italian American protest directed at the FBI ended with the attempted assassination of their protest leader Godfather Joseph Columbo!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
