In Massachusetts it is 16 which is a good thing as I met my future wife when she was 16 and I was 17. You assume that our white guy leaders set this as of consent instead of 18 because of all of the potential rape charges that parents of 16 year old girls might want to press against their daughter’s 17 year old classmate boyfriends.
On the other hand when Michael Kennedy was boinking his 16/year old babysitter he would have been pushing 40 years old! You wonder if this Massachusetts law of consent should be reviewed again and especially if the 16 year old in question happens to be the alleged rapist “employee”. As for me I eventually married my 16 year old girlfriend and thank God wives can’t testify against their husbands. Perhaps any new law should be named after Michaela Kennedy Cuomo.
