I used to watch this show every week when it originally aired. It is both a funny and anti war tv series. The obvious question therefore is whether the UN should have gotten involved in what was a civil war. Having “lost” China, Truman was not about to lose Korea as well. In the end the US fought China to a draw there.
Had the pacifists in the West prevailed and keep UN forces out of Korea then today’s South Korea would look just like today’s North Korea. Not a great look and you do have to ask yourself who occupied the morally superior high ground, the anti war folks or the anti communist folks?
And that is all I’m going to say about that.
