So coming off our win in WW1 and our loss of almost 700,000 Americans to the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918-1920 the USA was ready to party for the rest of the decade! Unfortunately the Temperance folks had just taken the booze away from us but the mafia would come to the rescue. How anybody in there right mind could think that prohibition would work in a country full of beer swilling Germans, wine sipping Italians and whiskey slurping Irish is beyond me!
This time around we have plenty of booze but also debt up to the eyeballs so the roaring 2020’s party after the covid pandemic is over will be a lot shorter in America this time around. We will never be the same and many retail and restaurant jobs will not be coming back. Unfortunately America has not won anything so far this century be it wars, jobs or balancing budgets.
And that is all I’m going to say about that.
