The Demmy’s prefer raises while the Repub’s prefer bonuses. Given that pandemics happen only once every hundred years or so we should be giving our front line folks bonuses for getting us thru this once in a lifetime event.
However the democrats will push to give them raises which over their lifetime will cost taxpayers more over the longer haul even though the threat will be long over. It will even be extended to folks who didn’t see us thru this in any way! In Washington they call it pork in reality it’s buying votes!
