Otherwise known as the Strategic Defense Initiative. This was a space based nuclear defense system that was proposed by President Reagan and attacked by Russian dictator Gorbachev and others in the USA. It was reported this week that it appeared that Russia had launched something from one of its satellite. Putin is no Gorbachev and Biden is no Reagan!
Mr. Biden voted against funding SDI, saying, “The president’s (Reagan) continued adherence to [SDI] constitutes one of the most reckless and irresponsible acts in the history of modern statecraft.” In hindsight it would appear that once again Biden’s statecraft is what is reckless. But we know that the nicer class of folks agreed with him at the time and we know what place these folks tend to finish in. Given current world events a President Biden is a very scary thought even if he wasn’t a 78 years old version!
