Much prefer real maple syrup but it is way more expensive than Jemima’s version! Does make you wonder why they waited so long to fix this. I remember a white girl going out at Halloween in black face, dressed like Aunt Jemima. As for Uncle Ben never saw one of those at Halloween but haven’t bought his rice for sometime now and he too should be retired.
Some years ago I went to Philadelphia, Mississippi and had lunch at the local Sambo’s restaurant. This was just a few years after MLK’s assassination and the murder of 3 civil rights workers in Philadelphia. You think white folk would have learned from stuff like this but I guess we require more of a wake up call. I understand that the last Sambo’s restaurant is being renamed although it’s name was a combination of the two original owners with no racist intent behind it.
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
