Just like the Caesars of old, we are hosting our own gladiator super bowl games so the masses can forget about their troubles for a few hours!
I have no issue with that but providing any kind of tax payer money to help fund bigger and fancier stadiums for their billionaire owners and millionaire players is absolutely insane!
On top of all of this Mr. Six Pack is invariably the first to complain about how high his taxes are. They can pay higher taxes or buy season tickets they can’t do both. To quote a WWII US General this is “NUTS”. If you are going to throw any kind of tax payer money at a sports team owner at least require the owner to sign over ownership of the team name to the City or State Government that is giving them the money!
And that is all I’m going to say about that!
